Since 2016 there has been an annual fundraising event called the Annual
Darrington Lovelace Memorial Scholarship and Cancer Benefit sponsored by
Darrington’s Gift Inc. The event is held yearly to raise funds that are used for PTA
students and cancer patients. The event consists of a group of people gathered
(and absolutely anyone can attend) to have a wonderful evening. There is a
speaker for the evening which usually consists of medical provider, support staff
or a cancer survivor. A delicious catered meal is prepared, donated items are
auctioned off and everyone has a great time. There is a small charge for
admission to the event. All proceeds go towards Darrington’s Gift Inc. to provide

support to students and cancer patients. Sources such as grants, and other
donations may also be accepted.
